Canoe Hire
Eden Adventures have single, double and triple canoes for hire. These come equipped with paddles, buoyancy aids and waterproof containers for picnics, cameras etc, and a map to assist you in your decision making. There are various waterways to explore in the area. The most popular are the Touw River and the Kaaimans River.

Abseiling
Abseiling is all about using a rope and other specialised equipment to descend a cliff. The serene Kaaimans Gorge holds one of the most beautiful abseil sights you will find. You have a chance to do two 45m abseils right next to a magnificent waterfall. The first abseil is an easy one to get you used to the idea of trusting the ropes and the second one is slightly more technical, however just as exhilarating.

Kloofing
Kloofing, also known canyoneering, is a popular summer activity. The fun starts as one negotiates one’s body into a wetsuit. After kitting-up, we go boulder hopping and swimming down narrow canyons with lush indigenous forest on either side. For the brave, there are always the optional jumps off the cliffs into the cola coloured water below.
All you need to bring is a costume, shoes or sandals that can get wet and a camera (we will carry it in a waterproof container for you). Also, don’t forget your towel and dry clothes for the end.

Combination Tours
For those who feel like a little more exercise, try a full day combination of the Cappuccino Canyon Kloofing and the Abseiling Tours. Lunch is included. Eden Adventures, now located at Fairy Knowe Hotel, specialises in outdoor adventure tours, as well as teambuilding activities and tailormade tours of the Garden Route.

We have been running a professional tour operation since early 1997 and with over 10 years of experience, we can show you the best that the area has to offer. Our main tours include canoeing, kloofing and abseiling, but for those who would like to explore the area in their own time, Eden Adventures has an affordable range of canoes for hire.

What also makes this sight special is that you land in a canoe at the bottom. You need not have abseiled before, however, it is not for the faint-hearted! It is also important to remember not to wear slippery shoes.

The Half day Cappuccino Canyon (Kaaimans Kloof) is the most popular kloofing trip as it is a fantastic kloof for beginners, yet there are many jumping possibilities for the brave. The deep pools with towering cliffs offer spectacular scenery and an amazing introduction to kloofing.

Please Note that should you enter the National Park with the canoes, entrance fees that may be required will be your responsibility

Touw River:
One can pack a picnic and some swimming gear and head to the Touw River Rockpools. Paddle up the Touw River through the indigenous forest, where there is an abundance of birdlife. After about 40mins of easy paddling, you will reach a point where it becomes too shallow and too narrow to continue. Leave the canoe on the right-hand side of the river and follow the path up onto the bank. There you will come across a boardwalk which will take you past various rock pools. Relax, swim, picnic and return via the same way.

Island Lake is about a 1.5 to 2-hour paddle down the Serpentine River. Turning right into a tributary of the Touw River, continue through the meandering reedbeds to Island Lake. About halfway there, one passes under the Hoekwil road bridge. Just after the bridge, the reeds become very overgrown. Push through the reeds for about 20m and it will then open up again. At Island Lake, there is a picnic site on the left. Return the same way. Round trip = 4 to 5 hours. Although scenery on this route is not spectacular it is often good for birdwatching.

For those wanting to paddle to the beach, the river mouth is about 30 to 40 mins paddle from Eden Adventures. The river gets wider towards the mouth and banks become more developed, however, it is still a lovely alternative.

Kaaimans River:
Although a short paddling option, there is a lovely waterfall that one can paddle to. We also offer abseiling at this waterfall.

What Must I Take With Me?
There are large splash proof buckets in the canoes to keep your belongings dry. You can use them to pack cameras, picnics etc. In fact most daypacks fit inside one of the buckets, however, these buckets also act as the buoyancy for the canoe. Therefore they must be kept sealed, with the cords fastened over them.

Are “Life Jackets” Necessary?
Personal floatation devices (PFD) are recommended. All children under the age of 12 are required to wear a PFD. Please note that they are not meant as cushions.

What do I do if I Get Caught By a Strong Headwind?
If the wind picks up, make the front of the boat heavier when paddling into the wind. This will stop the bow being blown around by the wind. You can do this by putting the heaviest person in the front or by putting some rocks up in the front of the boat.

Combination Tours
For those who feel like a little more exercise, try a full day combination of the Cappuccino Canyon Kloofing and the Abseiling Tours. Lunch is included.

Recent additions to our Combination Tours category include the Adventure Duet and the Thrilling Threesome.

The Adventure Duet is an afternoon of abseiling and canoeing, while the Thrilling Threesome is a combination of kloofing, abseiling (next to the Kaaimans waterfall) and canoeing.

Eden Adventures has become one of the leading teambuilding service providers on the Garden Route. Although most of our teambuilding takes place at or near our base in the Wilderness, we do a have portable equipment and have done events as far afield as Plettenberg Bay, Oudtshoorn, and MosselBay.

We have a wide range of tried and tested teambuilding activities which we can adapt to your needs.
Some of our more popular ideas are listed below, however, they are by no means your only options.

Any of our standard tours or variations thereof.

Wild Treasure Hunt – Teams are given clues that take them on a paper chase in search of hidden treasure.
This exercise could involve activities such as canoeing and abseiling and can be arranged to cover any size area.

Wilderness Survivor Games – Teams compete in fun games using all sorts of interesting apparatus. Although the games are designed to challenge participants mentally and physically, they are not strenuous and therefore most people should be able to participate. There can also be some awesome prizes up for grabs and some fearsome forfeits to avoid.

Drumming Workshop – A fantastic opener or finisher to any event which will get the group working together as one.

Paintball – At last an opportunity to get back at those in the office that you don’t like.

Let us design a teambuilding event that will have you talking about the coffee machine for years to come.
