Just 19kms off the R62 in the Western Cape, you will find the Country Garden Guest Farm. From Ladismith town it is a very scenic drive through fertile valleys of vineyards and orchards.

Flower Arranging Courses are now also being offered on the farm in the beautifully renovated Manor House.

Bird watching – there are over 80 species of birds on our farm. Many migratory birds, one of which is the European Bee Eater, visit our farm during the summer months. What to Do on The Farm:

Firstly, enjoy the peace and quiet of the Little Karoo
Walk all over the farm and let the serenity of our surroundings enter your soul
Bird watching – there are over 80 species of birds on our farm. Many migratory birds, one of which is the European Bee Eater, visit our farm during the summer months
Bass fishing with our boys – just arrange it with Dominic

Help our children to feed the farm animals – usually at about 7.30am in the morning and about 4.30pm in the evening
Bring your bike and go mountain biking along the farm roads
Hike up the mountain – no paths – takes between 5 and 7hrs to reach the very top
Swim in the swimming pool – an old farm reservoir behind the farm house filled with mineral water and no chemical additions – not always clear but very refreshing

Look out for the wonderful and varied flora on the farm. Proteas (at least 4 different varieties), leucadendron, mimetes and other fynbos abound on the higher mountain slopes
Visit the farm shop at the Farmhouse and stock up on our homemade jams and vegetables and fruit in season
Help us with chores on the farm if you feel like some farm work – eg. digging, weeding, etc.

Take a short hike to the “Kloof” and enjoy the hidden beauty of our mountains. Please leave only your footprints behind.
Stargazing – the sky is usually amazingly clear, and you should see a falling star as well as satellites moving across the Milky Way.
Have a good rest
