To reinforce the role of NAAMSA as the leading, collective voice of the automotive industry in South Africa, the inaugural NAAMSA Automotive Conference will be launched in 2018 and will cover issues of importance to the South African auto and associated industries. Drawing on select industry leaders and specialist speakers from the world stage, the Conference will focus on key issues impacting the industry, as well as grappling with the various consumer and technological trends forcing rapid change on a global scale.

Food & Drink:

The 2018 Festival of Motoring will provide a more varied culinary experience with the increase of specialized food and beverage vendors in numerous dedicated catering areas.

Motorsport Content:

An added feature for the 2018 show is the inclusion of two national motorsport categories as part of the track content for the Festival. The Sasol GTC Championship and the Investchem Formula 1600 Championship will form part of an exciting track programme over the three jam-packed show days.

Motorsport Legends

South Africa has a rich motorsport history. Kyalami, being the home of motorsport in South Africa, has contributed greatly to that history. As part of the Festival of Motoring we celebrate and pay tribute to that history. Motorsport Legends:

Motorsport legends both past and present will attend the show. The Festival of Motoring will once again celebrate certain themes in 2018. One of the themes will be Woman in Motorsport as we honor those women that have competed and won in a male dominated sport. Great racing liveries will also be honored in special Endurance Racing feature on track and in a special display area.
Motorsport fans at the show will have the opportunity to meet the racing legends and see, hear and feel the great race cars of the past on the iconic Grand Prix Circuit. The race cars can also be viewed in the special race pit area. A grid-walk each day, prior to the demonstration races, will allow fans to get close to both drivers and cars.

Pit Areas:

70 Pit Garages split between the Lower and Upper Pit Areas with static brand displays and professionally driven test drives on offer.
With all of the major car brands participating in the Festival of Motoring in 2018 show goers will be able to view all of the latest models that car brands have on offer. A special surprise of a future model or model not yet available in SA always adds to the excitement. 40 Pit Garages will accommodate various brands in the Lower Pit Building. 30 further Pit Garages will be constructed on the Upper Platform which will house further brands and a Future Techno display.
Two current local motorsport categories will race during the event and will also be housed in the Upper Pit Area.
Each Manufacturer will also have a variety of vehicles, professionally driven, for show-goers to experience these cars on track. Cars will be launched from both the Lower and Upper Pit Area. A rare opportunity to be professionally driven, around the iconic Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, in a Family or Super Saloon.

Retail Areas:

The 2018 Festival of Motoring will provide 2 main retail areas with over 5000sqm of retail exhibition space.
The Galleria in the lower pit building will focus on the Performance Car Market with specialized conversion companies being the focus. Performance aftermarket accessories and related performance industry specialists will showcase exciting vehicles and products.
Companies and private individuals from the motoring, general retail, financial and services industries exhibit their latest products on offer in the retail area on the upper platform.
From 4×4 accessories to beard oil, from Financial services offerings to the latest gadgets, from branded clothing to model cars. You will find it all at our retail zone.

Skid Pan:

The Kyalami Skidpan will once again provide an interactive experience with visitors being able to participate in various activations.
This 5 000sqm platform serves as a fully-fledged Skidpan with OEM’s doing live activations in some of their most exciting models. Demonstrations and Dynamic Driving will provide visitor interaction and jaw dropping excitement for the full duration of the show.


A static display of the evolution of the Supercar and the sight and sound of 30 Supercars on track
Supercar fans will have a rare opportunity to view a special collection of Supercars starting with classic sports cars from the 60’s and moving on to the more modern HyperCars of the current generation.
15 extremely rare and valuable Supercars covering 6 decades of the Sportscar. Never before collectively seen in South Africa and professionally displayed in a unique venue at Kyalami.
Track sessions will include high speed Supercar demonstrations with between 30 and 40 Supercars on track. Show goers will see, hear and feel these high-performance vehicles in the environment they were designed for. Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, McLaren, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Mercedes Benz AMG, BMW and Audi to name just some of the Supercar brands on track.

Tesr Drives & Handeling Track:

The unique 1.1 km Kyalami handling track will provide the opportunity for vehicles to be test driven by the public in a safe and controlled environment.
The handling track showcases the dynamics of a vehicle providing an ideal opportunity to test drive a range of vehicles and compare performance and handling characteristics of the various models available. Test drives will be booked in a special registration area leading into a unique pit area from which the track will be accessed.
This will allow show visitors to not only see these vehicles in a static display but also engage in an interactive driving experience with a sales representative on hand to demonstrate the features of the models available for test drives.

The Festival of Motoring is dedicated to the enthusiast. A person that has a passion for the Automobile and its various forms will not be left disappointed. Highlights for the petrol head will include:

A display of cars covering the history of the Automobile from the early 1920’s until today.

Track Schedule:

The Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit is one of only a few FIA Grade 2 Circuits in the Southern Hemisphere. The circuit will provide a unique platform for a variety of track related activations.
The track schedule will be divided each day into various time slots with track activations being split into the following categories:
Professionally driven test rides in Family Saloons
Professionally driven test rides in Performance Cars
Supercar Sessions
Motorsport High Speed Demonstrations (including evening demonstrations)
Motorsport Races and Practice Sessions
Motoring enthusiasts will not only see and hear iconic race cars and modern supercars but also be professionally driven around the circuit adding to the interactive content of the show.

Vintage and Classic Cars:

The 2018 Festival of Motoring will once again feature a selection of unique vintage and classic cars. The “Best of the Best” area will feature fifteen top quality classic cars. The cars will all be displayed in a dedicated area located behind the main pit building at Kyalami. A separate area will be dedicated to the evolution of the automobile covering 10 decades of motoring history. The area will focus on “vehicles with a unique story”. Once again, FoM will showcase vehicles that have a broad appeal to show visitors of all ages.
