Team building options are available for corporate events. Compete against each other in Strategic Games, Compass Orienteering, Adventure or Warrior Races or use Abseiling, Caving, Forest Cruises, Geckoing and Kloofing as platform for building a stronger team. For those who enjoy a more relaxed approach to the outdoor, a 4×4 Forest Cruise is available, taking you into the depths of the indigenous vegetation and offering gorgeous views of this serene location. Kestell Adventures is situated in the town Sabie in Mpumalanga, a 45 minute drive from Kruger National Park, God’s Window and the Blyde River Canyon. The owner, Kestell Barnard, has over 15 years’ experience in the Adventure Tourism Industry. He qualified with a National Diploma in Adventure Tourism management in 2007 at Tshwane University of Pretoria. Kestell Adventures are proud members of Sabie Chamber of Commerce and Tourism and are MDT and ASA accredited.
The variety of adventure activities on offer:
Tubing: (Minimum age: 12 years; Price: R380; Duration: 4-5 hours)
With this unique rafting experience, you negotiate river rapids in your own boat with your face at river level! This awesome one-on-one experience with the raging river rapids makes it the best way to go down the Sabie River (also called Geckoing). A Gecko is a one-man inflatable, solid floor, raft-tube with handles. You sit in the Gecko and paddle with your hands, when you get to the rapids, hold on! Guides drive with 4×4 vehicles deep into the forest to the U2 section of the Sabie River, well known amongst kayakers. Guests go 3km down the river which includes 7 rapids, grading I-III. There is an optional 8m cliff-jump you can do on the route.
Canyoning: (Minimum age: 12 years; Price: R380; Duration: 3-4 hours)
Have a breathtaking walk, jump and swim inside the veins of mother-nature at the magnificent Mac-mac Waterfall. The scenery changes fast from wide open grassland into thick jungle vegetation and deep, hidden gorges. Jumping into the rock-pools will keep the adrenalin pumping while the not-so-adventurers have the option to walk around them. Light snacks and drinks are included.
Abseiling: (No experience required; Price: R250; Duration: 1-2 hours)
Descent down the 25 meter high Sabie Falls with the water spray in your face and the Sabie River roaring underneath you. This is an awesome and exhilarating way to challenge yourself and conquer your fear. A rush you have never felt before, guaranteed! Finish in the rock pool below the falls and have a beautiful walk back through the indigenous forest. There is also a dry-abseil available
Caving: (Price: R250; Duration: 2 hours)
Explore the mysterious depths of Sabie’s caves with candles, overalls and helmets. Are you brave enough to squeeze through the crawls? You will be taken through muddy tunnels, dark holes and large chambers. Sabie’s caves have its own unique rock formations, offering thrill-seekers a challenge, no matter what level of experience you have.
Forest Cruise: (No charge for children under 2 years; Price: R250; Duration: 2 hours)
Relax on an open 4×4 vehicle, cruising up the mountains surrounding Sabie where you will have an eagle’s view of the natural forest below. You are taken to a secret waterfall uncharted on any tourist map and only accessible by 4×4, where you can have a refreshing swim and bum slide at the natural rock pool below the falls. Bring the family, swimwear & towels, sunscreen and a picnic basket and enjoy an adventure off the beaten track.
