AfriCanyon offers Adventure Activities near Plettenberg Bay
Explore the river with AfriCanyon; navigate through the river shallows, jump, zip-line, swim through fresh-water mountain pools, slide down natural water slides and abseil in and around waterfalls as you dip down into the river gorge.
First timer, novice or seasoned at canyoning we’ve got your back. Under our professional guidance, using the high spec adventure equipment your qualified guide ensures a kloofing adventure you simply can’t get enough of.
In fact we know you’re likely to want to do it again and again!
There is option 1 the standard canyon trip that includes the zip-line, yep, the “Full Monty” or a short canyon “dip” to choose from. Both include swimming, abseiling, optional jumps, and a whole lot of fun for all.

About AfriCanyon – Canyoning, a.k.a Kloofing, Adventure Activity near Plettenberg Bay
AfriCanyon River Adventures was formed in order to share this multipart kloofing route, which lies in the hidden valleys of The Crags, near Plettenberg Bay on the Garden Route.
Safety, ease of access, and adventure are all core to the AfriCanyon experience – it is an adventure you’ll want to do again and again!
New to it or a seasoned canyoneer all clients are kitted up with high spec safety equipment. Professional guides ensure that every person experiences this canyoning adventure with the highest regard to safety. AfriCanyon River Adventures provides clients a guided trip through indigenous terrain that would otherwise remain inaccessible, undiscovered and unknown.

AfriCanyon’s Senior River Guides have attained accredited Canyoning qualifications and we put into practice a series of safety protocols. We assure you that you are in safe hands. Whether you have done this type of thing before or are a complete novice, with us you can do it!
An adventurer and explorer by nature, founder, Rogan Hindmarch, has explored this river with his sons and friends for many years. With over 10 years of Mountain Search and Rescue experience and over 30 years rock climbing experience, he ensures that the AfriCanyon team will guide you through this outdoor adventure, with safety top priority.

Standard Canyon Trip:
Duration: 4 hours. Cost ZAR 750 per adult, R550 kids – 16 years
Includes swimming, abseiling, optional jumps, and zip-line only on the full length trip.
Trips start at 09h00, 11h00 and 13h00 daily.
Short Canyon Trip:
Duration: 2 hours. Cost: ZAR 550 per adult, R400 kids – 16 years
Includes swimming, abseiling, optional jumps.
Trips start at 10h00 and 14h00 daily.
What does AfriCanyon supply?
All adventure equipment. I.e. Wet Suit, Harness, Helmet, Life Jackets. (Shoes can be rented from us at R35, 00 a pair)
When must I get there?
Please arrive 1 hour prior to your booking time for gearing up and a briefing.
How long does the excursion take?
Depending on the option chosen.

Where are the closest airports?
Cemair fly’s directly to the Plett Airport from Johannesburg and Cape Town. George and Port Elizabeth airports both offer the normal range of domestic flights and airlines.
