Winter Adventure In The Mountain Kingdom
It is also a little known fact that people have been skiing in various Southern African mountain ranges since 1929. One of the most ideally suited locations are the Maluti mountains in the Kingdom of Lesotho. A lot has changed since 1929 and the introduction of modern snow making facilities and lifts to Afriski since 2004 have allowed skiing and snowboarding to flourish in the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho.
The resort operates much as a European ski village does including all the essential components for a great ski holiday, from the accommodation, ski equipment, snow passes, ski school, food etc.
Ski / Snowboard
AfriSki gives you the perfect opportunity to learn, practise, or perfect your skiing skills. Our slopes are the ideal choice for a skiing holiday:
- Fully-equipped slopes
- World-class ski-instructors
- Lessons for any level
- PUDI Ski Area and Magic Carpet Lift for kids
- A Sit-Ski: for those with physical disabilities that prevent them from skiing the conventional way
Ski / Snowboard Facilities
- 1 x 1000m T-Bar Lift
- 2 x Intermediate Button Lifts
- 1 x Beginner Tow Lift
- Ski equipment rental
*Please note: The T-Bar Ski Lift cannot operate at wind speeds higher than 45km/h.
Persons entering the premises of the Snow and Mountain Resort, or using any equipment or facilities do so entirely at their own risk.
Access to any of the ski slopes, whether you are a first timer or advanced skier, requires a Snow Pass.
Your pass gives you access to all slopes and lifts. Snow passes are available from as little as a ½ day all the way to a season pass. Your Snow Pass can be booked with your ski holiday through our Central Reservations office or online via the Hoofkantoor online booking facility.
Alternatively, your Snow Pass may also be purchased directly at the resort. Please consult one of our booking agents to enquire about our fully inclusive ski packages.
Please note that we do not give cash refunds. Snow Passes + Rented Equipment will only be refunded in the event of an accident during a ski lesson, provided the request is accompanied by a medical certificate issued by our in house medics.
High winds or mechanical failure may from time to time affect the operation of our lifts but do not qualify for refunds since our team will make every effort to provide alternative lift facilities.
Bumboarding & Tubing
Sometimes, the simple things are the best things; this is the case in our Bumboarding and Tubing Alleys. Suitable for adults and children, you have a winning opportunity to have endless, carefree fun.
Get a bumboard pass and have endless fun in the bumboarding alley during days when you can’t participate in our other SnowSports.
A little like sledding, this activity is great as a time-filler between ski sessions, or as a substitute if you just aren’t the skiing or snowboarding type.
Our tubes are set-up for young and old, with a lift to pull you to the top of the tubing alley. Cruise down the hill alone or in a group on your tubes, and have unlimited laughs.
Take your bumboarding up a gear as part of the Après Ski Activities, your evening fun after a long run on the slopes. Bigger boards with bigger thrills. It’s worth it.
Ski School has all the necessary expertise to help you learn and improve your skiing or snowboarding skills.
Our local and international instructors are available throughout the northern hemisphere summer season, ensuring the most capable instructors for any level during the AfriSki winter.
