De Hoek lies graciously in a serene country setting an hour from Johannesburg and Pretoria.
Nestled in a crook of the Magalies River in the lush and fertile valley of the Magaliesburg Mountains.
The original sandstone house was built in 1991 and evokes a special charm and ambience with its grand central mahogany table. The Lesotho sandstone house boasts historic repurposed features such as struts from the old Crown Mines headgear, and wooden door lintels from the Durban station to name but a few. All in-house guests have access to the West Terrace lounge with gas fireplace, the Gimbal library with a collection of books as well as flat screen TV with selected satellite channels, the Conservatory restaurant, the Compass bar for pre-or post-dinner drinks as well as the outdoor swimming pool, manicured gardens and walking paths. Four original twin rooms remain on the mezzanine level of the house and have access to the landing lounge as well as the patio balcony. In addition to the Stone House the hotel also has 12 Classic Superior suites, 4 Classic Superior Suites with a gas fireplace, 10 Deluxe Suites and 2 Penthouse Suites as options for accommodation. Of the Deluxe Suites, 2 are wheelchair friendly with wider doors and passages, hand rails in bathrooms and level threshold showers entrances.
In addition to the accommodation De Hoek offers a variety of event venues that can accommodate up to 80 guests for a private event, a wedding or a corporate conference. The Garden Pavilion can seat up to 30 people for wedding receptions or double up as a chapel when the weather does not permit an outside ceremony. Stonebridge House which has its own kitchen and service bar can accommodate 60 guests in the Foundation room and 12 people each in the Cornerstone and Capstone breakaway rooms. Four elegant conference and function rooms are situated in the grounds in the imposing sandstone Stonebridge House. The formal Foundation Room, with elegant interiors, can accommodate up to 60 delegates with various seating arrangements. A service bar leads off the room. Two smaller conference rooms, Cornerstone and Capstone rooms, lead out onto the enclosed veranda which in turn leads into the lovely Bridge Bistro restaurant. The Garden Pavilion is also a beautiful room, with a fireplace and large brass chandeliers; it is available for up to 30 delegates.
Twenty-four hour conference packages are offered to delegates who want superlative cuisine, good wine, excellent accommodation and service within an elegant and exclusive environment.
