This incredible lion sanctuary is situated in the scenic Cape Winelands, comprising of 50 acres of indigenous vegetation that the lions are free to roam. Visitors to the park are taken aback by the breathtaking beauty and physique of these previously distressed lions.For those who want to spend a little more time in this mesmirising place, guests can choose to sleep amongst the lions at the Ingonyama tented camp, the specially designed safari tents. Enjoy a traditional South African braai/barbeque and watch the sunset over the majestic Drakenstein Mountain range, whilst listening for the mighty roars of the park’s inhabitants in the background.Drakenstein Lion Park is also home to Chimp Haven, a new facility that homes chimps and other animals that were recently displaced by the closure of a local zoo.Bring the whole family along for an incredible day amongst the King of the Jungle, learning about and appreciating these incredible animals.
