The duration of these rides is approximately 1hour 45 minute, where riders are guided along the beach, leaving from Imhoff Farm Kommetjie, riding straight through the wetlands for about 20minutes, and then on to the beautiful Noordhoek beach. Riding along the water’s edge or the back pan towards Chapman’s Peak and back. A variety of wild life can often be seen on the beach rides e.g. birdlife, whales, otters and seals.
The rides offered occur 3 times a day, at 9am, 1pm and 5pm December through mid-March and 9am, 12.30 pm and 4pm mid-March through November.
The rides include an 8km stroll along the picturesque Noordhoek Beach. Generally, 2 guides accompany riders so those that just want a nice relaxing stroll can stay at the walk, while the more experienced rider can enjoy a little trot and canter, beach permitting. These rides are more of a scenic ride (unfortunately, no galloping is permitted on the beach; this is Parksboard rule to ensure safety of all who use the beach.)
Riding helmets are compulsory and are supplied. For your own comfort, it is advised to wear long trousers. For footwear you will need to wear a closed shoe with a small heel or trainers.
