Based at Saldanha Airfield on the West Coast, Johann Froneman is the owner and instructor with more than 25 years’ experience.Instruction is given on Trikes, Gyrocopters, and fixed wing LSA aircraft, with qualifications of MPL, GPL NPL (Sports Pilots Licences).Johann Froneman, an A Grade Instructor NPL, MPL, and GPL, heads up the operation and has had more than 27 years of flying experience with 17 years of instructing. He is an AP on Microlights, Gyros, and Home Builts.

WESTERN CAPE FLYING TRAINING CENTRE
WCFTC was opened in 2000 and has grown from strength to strength, being recognised as one of the most friendly yet professional training centers in the Western Cape.
Johann Froneman, an A Grade Instructor MPL, and GPL heads up the operation and has had more than 27 years of flying experience with 17 years of instructing. He is an AP on all Microlights, Gyros and Home Builts.
He started the Easter Flight Centre (Witbank) and ran that for 5 years, then opened up Upington Microlight Flying Training Centre and has since moved to Saldanha and is the current owner of WCFTC.
Training is done 7 days a week (weather permitting). Plans are in the pipeline to provide accommodation for those students wishing to do full-time training whilst staying at the airfield.
MPL, NPL and GPL training is done including all lectures and practical.
The club consists of full members, social members, and student members. Members pay a yearly facility fee to the management of airfield and this covers all landing fees and use of other facilities at the airfield. Members have full use of all club facilities, which includes a brand new clubhouse, with braai facilities and fully stocked bar.
Club meetings held on first Thursday of every month at 19H00, followed by a braai/social.
Monthly breakfast runs will be held at the clubhouse, the Saturday morning after the club meeting. All pilots in the area are invited to fly in and join us for breakfast.
